I saw this on MySpace this morning, and man, is this a creepy-looking dog!!
We heard this one on the radio this morning on the way in to work, and I am STILL cracking up about it!
Maddy just sent this link to me, and it’s way cool! You get to see how some of your favorite celebrities are faring…some not as well…but it’s awesome all the same!
Well, Joe Crede hasn’t logged much playing time lately, and that’s totally bumming me out! I tell ya…after the All-Star game he’s pretty much been on the DL! They say it’s “lumbar inflammation” and he didn’t even play in Charlotte yesterday. ![]()
This, in addition to our guys not playing well lately, then the scuffle with the Royals….ick! We’ve got a nine-game home stint coming up, starting with Detroit….let’s hope things pick up in our lineup!
LET’S GO WHITE SOX!!

…that’s how I can best describe my first experience with Relay for Life. I was all ready to compose this awesome post about how wonderful Relay was, and how emotionally and physically draining but great it was, but somehow words escape me. It was everything I expected and more….
I started out in the Survivor Lap, which ultimately brought me to tears!! Actually, the thing that first stirred my emotions was standing up in front of everyone with my fellow cancer survivors. I tend to forget what that whole experience was like: being diagnosed, going through chemo; but Saturday as I stood there, looking out onto the crowd, everything came full-circle.
Then came the Caretaker Lap that V and Stephen joined me for. They were TRULY there from the beginning….the morning that pain woke me from a sound sleep, for the hysterectomy, diagnosis, chemo, countless pills, needles, throwing up, the nasty contrast for the CT scan, countless Dr. appointments…and they EARNED the title “Caretaker”!!
There were times when I could barely put one foot in front of the other while walking in Relay, but I just felt so *antsy* if I tried to sit to rest. I loved the feeling of *oneness*…we weren’t just individual teams, we were part of a group effort. An effort to raise as much money as we could to help eradicate this horrible disease.
The one thing I loved most of all about the evening, though, was seeing Cory and the boys walking onto the track!! CBo, I loved that you and the boys stopped by, just your being there made my heart smile!!
Another thing that made my heart smile, too (and there were many, believe me!!), was having Rachel there to walk with me. After all, she is one of the people in my life that I fought ovarian cancer for, and undoubtedly one of the MOST important!
So, on to planning for NEXT year! ![]()
Have a VERY happy birthday, Jen! I wish you many, many more! Any big plans today?
Love you!

Okay, now talk about your surprise happenings…I just read that Olivia Newton-John got married over the 4th of July holiday! Now, I’m hoping she had a bouquet of flowers to catch, and not a bouquet of sparklers or cherry bombs…!
Actually, that’s a pretty smart idea. Don’t have to spring for the church or any of the wedding-related frippery, just draw up a short guest list, hop down to the local Sam’s Club for burgers and dogs, and oh, nab a preacher!
(Singing) “Suddenlyyyyy, the wheels are in mo-tion…..” Giggle.
A big CONGRATS to Joe Crede for making the All-Star team this year!! Granted, he’s on the *reserve* team and not a starter, but hey, the reserves are chosen by the players, not the fans. That should REALLY count for something! ![]()
Now, maybe if Madonna plans on keeping A-Rod under lock and key for next year, just *maybe* Joe will have a chance at being a starter…! Snicker.
